Yu Garden Tea
A Guangdong classic and one of the oldest flavoured teas China exports — black tea scented with lychee until the fruit reads as part of the leaf. The cup is deep amber, floral and candy-sweet on the nose, then rounder than you expect: ripe lychee, a little rose, and the base tea's malt keeping it from turning syrupy. Excellent iced, and the easiest tea here to give to someone who says they do not like tea.
In Chinese this is written 荔枝红茶 and pronounced lì zhī hóng chá.
