A supreme-grade Wuyi Da Hong Pao with the roast kept in proportion to the leaf. Dark twisted strips open into toasted almond, dried longan and the wet-stone minerality the Wuyi cliffs are known for, with a sweet, slightly caramelised finish that lasts well past the swallow. It takes six or seven short infusions before it gives up. Sits between our Grade 2 and our Reserve — the one to start with if you have never drunk rock oolong.
